Jon, Krista and their family attended Holy Trinity for ten years before joining. We considered them our “permanent visitors.” After visiting for so long, the Rachieles joined HT in 2007. Jon’s fear was that he “would have to serve on lots of committees.” Good thing that didn’t happen!!
Jon and Krista met at Valparaiso University (a modern day Bonnie and Felix). They have three children; Devin, 10, Ian, 8 and Nolan, 5. Krista volunteers as a Sunday School teacher and so won over a little guy last week that he asked his mom if they could join the church! And guess what; they are joining.
Jon’s strongest goals for HT for this year are “a well articulated plan for the future that has us pay the ministry staff adequately, provide adults with spiritual growth through small groups, continued growth in children’s activities, and an explosion of youth events.”
His five-year goal would be that when a Glenview resident asks what churches are in the area, Holy Trinity is mentioned.
Apparently Jon’s fear of committee commitment has been overcome for he is a workhorse of activity on behalf of Holy Trinity, having served as Chairman of the Call Committee, Superintendent of the Sunday School, part of the AIM (Associate in Ministry) committee, and Outreach/
Communications. Jon is embellishing the Holy Trinity website and perfecting the pictorial directory to make it available online to all our members.
Another good man in a leadership position!
