Welcome to our Discipleship Ministry

The goal of this ministry is to foster individual spiritual growth in a small group setting. Particular emphasis is given to spiritual formation, a process of being transformed by the Spirit in the image of Christ for the sake of the world. All are welcome—men and women of all ages—to find meaning in their lives through small group participation. For more information, write to barbarakudirka@gmail.com

• An Introduction to Spiritual Formation will be offered on Sunday mornings, Sept. 26 and Oct. 3 at 11:00 am. A short-term small group, meeting on Tuesday mornings will continue the conversation, using Spiritual Formation by Henri Nouwen as a guide. This group meets Oct. 5, 12, 19 and Nov. 2, 9, 16 at 9:30 am in the Church Library.

• Thursday Morning Small Group meets at 10:00 am in the Church Library, beginning Sept. 9. Join us as we engage in Christian spiritual practices that enrich our faith walk, while sharing conversation about God’s presence in our lives. Spiritual Disciplines Handbook: Practices That Transform Us by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun will direct the experience.  

• Currently under construction, a small group for families with children will meet monthly on Sunday afternoons for food, fellowship and spiritual growth. While the children play, adults will participate in Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul, a video discussion series by Erwin McManus.  For specific dates, write to lorenagoodman@gmail.com

• The Monday Morning Book Club meets monthly at 9:30 am in Ebenezer Hall (lower level, across from the Nursery) for lively discussion on current books. Call the church office for dates and titles: 847-724-6060.
