Christian Sympathy. We hold in our prayers long-time member Ruth Block and her family, whose husband Vincent A. Block, 91, died at home in Windermere, FL August 29 surrounded by family. Donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 800 S. Orange Ave, Orlando, FL, 32809, or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. May God’s sure and certain promises of eternal life comfort all who mourn.
Open House. What a joy it was to have the congregation on the driveway and in the backyard to welcome me home from church! Thank you all for coming. And if you brought food or flowers, thank you for that, too. Your dishes are on the counter in the office.
Rally Day -- Sunday September 12, 2010, One Service at 9:30 AM. We invite you gather together as a family and kick off the 2010-11 program year. Grab a name tag before the service and learn our neighbors’ names. At 9:30 families will enter the sanctuary together, and after the children’s message, children will proceed outside for games and activities – Children of all ages preschool to high school are asked to participate this year. After the service, we invite the entire congregation for a picnic on the lawn. The main dish and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share (look for a signup sheet on the bulletin board or call the church office).
Please remember to wear your Blue Holy Trinity T-shirt on Rally Day Sunday (12th)
During the four Sundays of September our worship will celebrate the Seasons of Creation with Ocean, Animal, Storm and Universe Sundays. We would like to gather recorded nature sounds to set the stage for each Sunday. Do you have recordings of ocean waves, animal sounds from the jungle, thunder/lightning/wind, or something suggestive of the Universe? Please contact Barbara Kudirka with your suggestions at barbarakudirka@gmail.com or call her at 724-6060.
All Council Members and Ministry Chairs…please check your mailbox slots on a regular basis. Some of the slots are getting very full. Thank you!
There will be no Men’s Breakfast during the month of September as Seven Brother’s will be undergoing some remodeling. The breakfast meetings will resume in October.

Attention Families of Holy Trinity: This fall, a family Bible study group is forming. Steve and Loren Goodman will be leading a group that will meet once a month (Sunday afternoons?) at different homes or at church. The plan is to share a meal, have activities for the kids, and then have adult study/sharing time while the kids play. The first study piece is Uprising: A Revolution of the Soul, by Erwin McManus. Please contact the Goodmans (LorenAGoodman@gmail.com or 847-255-6150) if you are interested or have any questions.
Holy Trinity's participation in the Lutheran Job Search Network is up and running. This week, 33 pages of job listings are posted on the "Lutheran Job Search Network" poster in the East Hall. Check it out! Anna Marie Ogle is our HT representative for Lutheran Job Search Network. Anyone in job transition is invited to submit their email address to Anna Marie for information about support meetings and a seminar on how to get along during the transition, and tips for finding meaningful employment. In the meantime, if you would like to be connected for a first look at the new listings each week, just go to: www.mypersonaljourney.org and click on the tab on the left called "Jobs Listing". Click on the phrase "Jobs Listing for Week of …(Click Here )" and the site will download a PDF file of this week's Job Listings. |
