Welcome to our Service Ministry
The Service Ministry’s mission is to reach out to the community, the nation and the world to help the less fortunate in Christ’s name.
Children are served through our work with LSSI Augustan Open Arms Program, Rogers Park Children’s Center and the Glenview Youth Center. Hunger needs are met through support of Maine and Northfield Township Food Pantries, the annual Crop Walk, Feed My Starving Children Program and preparing/serving a monthly meal for local needy at a sister church. Women receive our help from the collection of cell phones we deliver to the Call to Protect program and from our participation in the LSSI Prison and Family Ministry Program. Others are served through the Lutheran World Relief Clothing Drive and sales of Free Trade Coffee.
We care for our own members by overseeing a congregational prayer chain, sending greeting cards to our shut-ins and distributing teddy bears to the ill, shut-ins and at our baptism services.
